Claremont Amany Institute is led by a multidisciplinary team responsible for scientific direction, operational integrity, and institutional stewardship across its biobanking and genomics programs.
Dr. Nonso Nwosu
Executive Director
Dr. Nwosu provides overall strategic leadership for the Institute, ensuring alignment between mission, governance, and long-term institutional development.
He oversees institutional partnerships, funding stewardship, and executive coordination across all core functions. As Executive Director, he is responsible for safeguarding CAI’s independence, sustainability, and strategic coherence.
Dr. Yakubu leads the scientific direction and clinical integrity of the Institute’s research programs.
He sets research priorities, establishes scientific standards, and ensures ethical rigor in study design and execution. His leadership anchors CAI’s translational focus and reinforces the Institute’s commitment to scientific excellence and responsible research.

Dr. Enomfon-Nicole Ebose
Director of Country Operations
Dr. Ebose leads in-country operations for CAI, overseeing biobanking activities, hospital coordination, and program execution.
She ensures the integrity of specimen collection, regulatory compliance, and operational reliability across participating sites. Her leadership sustains the Institute’s field presence and the operational foundations of its research infrastructure.
Ms. Mefor leads the Institute’s external partnerships and institutional engagement strategy.
She works closely with hospitals, research institutes, ministries, and funding bodies to develop sustainable collaborations aligned with CAI’s mission. Her portfolio includes partnership frameworks, stakeholder communications, and institutional visibility.

Scientific Advisory Board
The Scientific Advisory Board provides independent guidance on research strategy, pathology standards, biobanking quality, and translational direction. Advisors serve in a non-executive capacity and do not participate in day-to-day management of the Institute.
Dr. Ifeoma Ndidi Onwubiko, MD, MPH
Hematopathologist & Physician–Scientist
Dr. Onwubiko is a hematopathologist and physician–scientist with expertise in hematologic malignancies, laboratory medicine, and translational research.
She advises the Institute on pathology standards, specimen integrity, and scientific rigor across its biobanking and genomics initiatives. Her perspective strengthens CAI’s commitment to ethical stewardship, diagnostic excellence, and globally aligned research practices.
